Why is the situationally aware technology of Guard+ needed?
People tend to underestimate the probability of theft when their bike is insured. Anonymous surveys have found that up to 54% of claims are fraudulent, due to undeclared improper locking by the riders. Guard+ can remind absent-minded riders to properly lock, if they stray away with the bike unlocked. To provide transparency, Guard+ can inform the insurer of the type of locking prior to theft.
